The position involvesclinical care, research, and teaching medical students andneurology residents as well as leadership in further development ofthe division. We are also currently recruiting for a junior-levelNeuromuscular Specialist, due to our growth. WVU Neurology has anactive multidisciplinary ALS clinic and the only MDA clinic in WestVirginia.Ours is a collaborative atmosphere that allows practicing advancedmedicine in a highly satisfying environment. We do so by recruitingsome of the finest physicians from across the country – men andwomen who are often recognized leaders in their specialty orsubspecialty; investing heavily in new technology; practicing – andfrequently developing – the latest techniques and placing thehighest emphasis on achieving great quality outcomes. Candidateswill join an active team including neurologists, neuropathologists,and physical, occupational, and speech therapists for collaborationin the areas of patient care, research and educationThe West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute,led by Dr. Ali Rezai, is expanding to include the clinical,research, and academic missions of Neurosurgery, Neurology, andBehavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, among others. The Institutewill spearhead efforts to develop innovative solutions for WestVirginians and those across the world with neurological andpsychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s;autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, andtraumatic brain injury. The Department of Neurology offers patientsa full spectrum of innovative therapies for neurologic disease,including stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, headache,immunology, and movement disorders. WVU is a Joint Commissionapproved Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level IV EpilepsyCenter.Morgantown, West Virginia is located just over an hour south ofPittsburgh, PA and three and one-half hours from Washington, DC andBaltimore, MD.
