SADNESS AS POPULAR DONEGAL MAN DIES IN MOTORWAY ACCIDENT

first_imgSimon McGeogheganA CO Donegal man has died after being struck by a car on a motorway in Co Wicklow.Pedestrian Simon McGeoghegan, from Moville, died in the accident which happened on the M11 at Roscath, south of Wicklow town, shortly before 10.30pm on Saturday night.He was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident site was preserved yesterday for a forensic examination.Garda put diversions in place for most of Sunday on the southbound carriageway of the M11 between Junction 18, Wicklow south, and Junction 19, Brittas Bay.Mr McGeoghegan, who was 31, had been living away from Donegal for a few years.He was the youngest of four with an older brother and two older sisters – and never forgot his Donegal roots.
